Street Closures & Parking Restrictions for the 78th Annual Troy Turkey Trot
Thanksgiving Morning – Thursday, November 27
The City of Troy is advising residents, businesses, and visitors of extensive parking restrictions and street closures associated with the 78th Annual Troy Turkey Trot. All are urged to review the details below and plan accordingly to ensure a safe and successful event.
NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Beginning 6:00pm Wednesday, November 26 to 2:00pm Thursday, November 27
- West side of River Street – from the Arts Center south to the former City Hall site
- Start/Finish Line Zone (Items 3–7 below)
- River Street: 3rd to 1st
- Broadway: 2nd to River
- 2nd Street: Broadway (north crosswalk) to River
- 4th Street: Broadway to Fulton
- Fulton Street: 3rd to 4th
Port-A-John Delivery No Parking (Wednesday, November 26)
- Broadway (north side) from 3rd Street east – 5 spaces, 8:00am–6:00pm
- Fulton Street (south side) from 3rd Street east – 5 spaces, 8:00am Wednesday–2:00pm Thursday
Same location posted Friday, Nov. 28 from 5:00am–8:00am for pickup.
Additional No Parking
- Y Lot: Posted for Thursday, Nov. 27 (enough for three 15ft trucks).

ALL RACE ROUTE STREETS CLOSED at 7:30am Thursday
Closed to all non-official vehicle traffic:
- River Street / 2nd Ave from Federal/Green Island Bridge to 102nd (5K) and to 112th (10K)
- Starting Line: 4th Street from Broadway to Grand
- Finish Line: River Street from 3rd to 1st
- 5K Turnaround: 101st & River
- 10K Turnaround: 111th Street at Powers Park
As runners progress, cross streets will reopen once the last participant has passed.
ADDITIONAL CLOSURES & TRAFFIC CONTROL POINTS
Barricades, DPW vehicles, and Troy Police will staff major intersections including:
- 4th & Federal / Green Island Bridge
- 4th & State
- Broadway & 5th Ave
- 2nd & State
- Green Island Bridge entry
- Federal Street westbound at 5th
- Westbound crosswalks along 5th Ave (Grand → Rensselaer)
- Westbound crosswalks along 6th Ave (Middleburgh → Glen)
- Eastbound crosswalks along President Street (Middleburgh → Glen)
North Troy (10K Route: 102nd–112th)
Closures with barricades at each cross street:
- River/2nd Ave: 102nd–111th
- 4th Ave: 105th–111th
- 111th Street: 2nd & 3rd Ave
- 112th Street: 2nd & 3rd Ave
