City of Troy Welcomes Six New Firefighters to the Troy Fire Department
(TROY, NY) – The City of Troy proudly welcomed six new firefighters into the ranks of the Troy Fire Department during a swearing-in ceremony held at City Hall. The newly appointed firefighters took their oath of office in front of family, friends, and city officials, marking the beginning of their dedicated service to the community.
Mayor Carmella Mantello praised the new recruits for their commitment to public safety, stating, “These six brave individuals have answered the call to serve and protect the people of Troy. As they embark on this noble career, we stand with them, offering our full support as they join the ranks of our outstanding fire department. The safety and well-being of our residents remain our top priority, and today’s swearing-in is another step in strengthening our emergency response services.”
Fire Chief Rich Cellucci also welcomed the new firefighters, emphasizing the department’s commitment to excellence. “Adding these six firefighters to our department reinforces our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies across the city. We are proud to have them join our team, and we look forward to their contributions in keeping Troy safe.”
This swearing-in follows the release of the Comprehensive Productivity and Staffing Study of Municipal Emergency Management and Fire Response Services, which outlined key recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Troy’s emergency services. As part of the city’s commitment to addressing these findings, a 90-day task force will be established to implement the study’s recommendations. This initiative aims to modernize the outdated staffing model and alleviate the workload on our firefighters and EMS personnel, ensuring a stronger and more sustainable emergency response system for the City of Troy.
