After a successful parade in 2024, the mayor and the committee are committed to making this years parade an even bigger success.
The 2025 Memorial Day Parade will take place on Memorial Day, May 26th, 2025 – beginning at 1:00pm. The route of the parade is as follows, beginning at Lansingburgh High School, right onto 5th Avenue, left onto 115th Street, Left on 2nd Avenue, South on 2nd Avenue, and ending at Powers Park. Mayor Carmella Mantello expressed her excitement for the upcoming Memorial Day Parade saying, “I am thrilled to announce that the Memorial Day Parade will continue this year and thanks to the folks on our Memorial Day Parade Committee for partnering with us to create another successful and memorable parade. While this is a day to enjoy, smile, and have fun – it is also a day of reflection. Our veterans, past and present have sacrificed so much so that we all may live safe and free. That is not lost upon me as this event begins to take shape once again. I am looking forward to seeing a big crowd and a big celebration!”
PJ Higgitt, a retired Sergeant Major of the United States Army said, "The City of Troy has sacrificed sons and daughters in every major conflict involving the United States. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage has ensured that we live in the freest and most democratic nation in the world. The Troy Parade and Memorial Day ceremonies serve as a small token of our gratitude, reminding us of the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and their families for the City of Troy and the United States of America."
Andrea Fairhurst, President of the Lansingburgh School Board of Education said, “Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
