TROY, N.Y. – The US National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Troy, NY. Roadways and basements may be impacted. Please take a moment to review these flood safety tips: weather.gov/safety/flood.
Troy City Hall reminds residents that if your basement is prone to flooding, try to get things that could be damaged off of the ground. It may also be worth checking your attic for any leaking water coming from your roof.
According to the National Weather Service, most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway: "turn around, don't drown."

"Due to the ongoing heavy rainfall, numerous rivers & streams are out of their banks. Many roads are impacted & some are closed. Numerous Flood Warnings & Flood Advisories are in effect. Flooding is occurring along both main stem rivers, as well as along small streams and creek. In addition, some flooding is expected along the Hudson River in the mid Hudson Valley at the time of high tide this afternoon as well. Finally, ponding of water is occurring within fields, low lying areas, urban locations and many streets.
"If traveling, be sure to avoid flooded roadways! Remember, Turn Around, Don't Drown!"
