Street Closures in Troy Due to Film Production – July 15 to July 23

The City of Troy is advising residents and visitors about temporary street closures due to the filming of a movie production taking place throughout downtown Troy. The following closures will be in effect on the dates and times listed below. Please plan travel accordingly and follow posted detour signage.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS:
 This film is a historical period piece set in 1939 Berlin, Germany, telling the story of a rabbi who was among the last to remain in Nazi-controlled Berlin. As part of this production, actors dressed in historically accurate Nazi military uniforms will appear on location during some scenes.

Residents and visitors should not be alarmed or feel threatened by these costumes or props. The City of Troy, the Troy Police Department, and nearby residents and businesses have been notified in advance of this sensitive portion of the filming. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as Troy plays a role in bringing this important story to life.

Special Effects Advisory – Friday, July 18:
 During filming, fake smoke will be visible from St. Mary’s Church as part of a dramatized scene. This is part of the production and there is no actual fire or danger to the public. The Troy Fire Department will be on-site throughout this portion of the shoot to ensure safety and oversee all effects.
