"While the proposed National Grid Transfer Station is a project within the Town of Brunswick, I do have serious safety and environmental concerns regarding the potential travel routes being considered - particularly the use of narrow residential roads like Spring Avenue. Having heavy tractor trailers carrying natural gas travel through our city neighborhoods is simply not conducive to the safety and quality of life of our residents.
I have scheduled a meeting with National Grid next week to discuss alternative routes of travel and to advocate for a common-sense solution that minimizes impacts on Troy’s neighborhoods and residents.
Our goal is to ensure that any decisions made protect the safety, character, and well-being of our community." - Mayor Carmella R. Mantello
