A lateral applicant is someone who is currently employed as a police officer in the State of New York.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
- Must have vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye.
- No felony or misdemeanor assault convictions.
- No current pending criminal charges.
- Be 21 years old or older.
- Have a GED or High School Diploma.
- Must have a police academy certificate of completion.
