Completed grievance forms and supporting documentation should be returned to the Assessor's office before Grievance Day. The Grievance period for the 2024 Roll has ended, and the Final Assessment Roll has been published as of July 1, 2024

Grievance forms available beginning the 1st of May when the Tentative Assessment Roll is published
Forms can also be picked up at the Assessor's office. The application and supporting documentation must be received in office by May 27, 2025, for the Board of Assessment Review to consider the complaint.

Grievance Day
Grievance Day will be on the Fourth Tuesday, the 27th of May, 2025
The Tentative Assessment Roll will be filed with the City Clerk on the 1st of May and may be seen and examined by any person.
The Board of Assessment Review will meet at City Hall, 433 River Street, Troy, New York on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, between the hours of 10am to 12pm and 4pm to 8pm, to hear complaints. Appointments will be assigned when the RP-524 form and supporting documentation are filed at the Assessment Office. A publication containing procedures for contesting an assessment can be obtained online at https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/contest/contestasmt.htm or are available at the Assessment Office.
The Assessor, or her designee, will be in attendance with the roll at City Hall, 433 River Street, Troy, NY on Friday, May 9, 12pm to 4pm, Wednesday, May 14, 8:30am to 12:30pm, Thursday, May 22, 4pm to 8 pm, and Saturday, May 24, 8am to 12pm, by appointment only.
