Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is a product or item in your home which can be dangerous, toxic, or otherwise unsafe. These items are typically labeled as flammable, corrosive (damages metals and skin), or toxic.
If you have leftover products, such as paint, pesticides, and aerosol cans containing toxic materials, contact us to find out if you can bring them to our HHW disposal days. Advanced registration is required. This service is free for Troy residents!
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Events
The City of Troy is partnering with Rensselaer County and the Town of Bethlehem for a series of household hazardous waste disposal events throughout 2023. Advanced registration is required. No P.O. Boxes will be accepted for registration. This link is for Troy residents to register. A week prior to the event, registrants will receive an email with important information including their scheduled time slot.
