TROY, NY (Mar 4) – Mayor Carmella Mantello is proud to announce the appointment of Randal D. Coburn as the new Head of Planning for the City of Troy. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, Mr. Coburn is a renowned expert in state economic development and is well-equipped to lead Troy’s planning initiatives into a prosperous future.

Randal Coburn’s impressive track record includes the oversight of pivotal economic programs such as Recycling Markets Development, Empire Zones, and other tax incentive programs. His expertise has been instrumental in fostering sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship throughout the state of New York.

"Randal’s extensive experience and commitment to community development make him the ideal candidate to guide our city’s planning efforts," said Mayor Mantello. "His proven leadership, deep knowledge and innovative approach to economic development will be invaluable assets to our city as we strive to create a thriving, sustainable, and vibrant future for all Trojans."

Throughout his distinguished tenure in state service, Mr. Coburn has successfully administered hundreds of millions of dollars in capital funds, demonstrating an exceptional capacity for strategic financial management and economic revitalization.

Amidst the recent challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Coburn played a crucial role in creating and implementing relief assistance programs to support small businesses, showcasing his unwavering dedication to the economic well-being of the community.
