Troy NY (June 7) - Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello today announced the long awaited and overdue milling, paving, curbing, sidewalks, ADA accessibility, striping and other safety measures along the Campbell Avenue corridor will begin on Monday, June 10th.
“Nothing pained me more than seeing residents and folks walking and traveling in wheelchairs in the roadway due to no sidewalks on Campbell Ave. This corridor is one of the busiest roadways in our city and was in desperate need of a complete and comprehensive overhaul. Continuing to make our neighborhoods safer and walkable is a huge priority for our city, and my administration will continue working to make our city safer and accessible block by block. The construction period will be challenging but worth it in the long run and we ask for residents and motorists patience during this critical infrastructure project.”
Construction will begin on Monday, June 10th at 6 am and will continue for several weeks. Beginning Monday, Campbell Avenue will be closed from Donegal Avenue to Sherman Avenue with detours. As roadwork continues, please sign up for emails, alerts, social media and monitor the city website.
Businesses will continue to be open along Campbell Avenue.
