[ARCHIVED] Mayor Mantello, Police Chief DeWolf Welcome Three New Recruits to Troy PD

NWC_0421

TROY, NY (June 18) – Mayor Carmella Mantello and Police Chief Dan DeWolf welcomed three new recruits to the police force on Tuesday.

The swearing in ceremony was held on Tuesday in the City Council Chambers in Troy. The three recruits, Kyle Adams, Eric Mainville, and Andrew Haskins, begin at the police academy this Friday.

Kyle Adams was born in Schenectady and attended the College of Saint Rose for his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He will be serving alongside his twin brother, Connor Adams. Kyle was pinned at the ceremony by his mother, Janice Adams.

Eric Mainville has lived in Troy for most of his life. He attended Turnpike Elementary and received his GED from EOC in 2017. Currently part of the Individual Ready Reserve for the U.S. Army National Guard, Eric felt that joining the Troy Police Department was his next step. He was pinned by his 8-year-old daughter, Erabella.

Andrew Haskins was born in the City of Troy and raised in Cohoes. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as an Infantryman and Cadet Instructor. Continuing his education, Andrew went to the University of Phoenix to get his degree in criminal justice. Following his passion for law enforcement and this community, Andrew felt that the Troy Police Department was his next step. He was pinned by his mother, Kelly Haskins.

Mayor Mantello said, “We are so grateful for these young recruits who have answered the call to serve our community. As the daughter of a Troy police officer, I understand the sacrifices these men and women must make during their career, and I also know that this was not a decision that was made lightly. To all our officers: I thank you for your sacrifice, service, and dedication to the City of Troy. We are lucky to have you.”

Chief of Police DeWolf said, “Today, the Troy Police Department welcomes 3 new recruit officers. The addition of these officers will enhance our ability to serve our citizens and help to foster a safer Troy. We are very excited for the new officers and their families as they begin their law enforcement career. The new officers all have connections to Troy, and we appreciate their willingness to serve and for choosing the Troy Police Department.”

The collective effort between Mayor Mantello, the administration and Troy Police Department remains strong, and we are all committed to creating a safer, cleaner Troy.
