TROY, NY (Jan 9) Mayor Carmella Mantello has announced the appointment of Jack L. Krokos to the office of Comptroller of the City of Troy. Krokos will be joining the administration on Monday, January 13th and will manage the city’s financial operations while ensuring transparency, fiscal responsibility, and efficiency. Krokos’s duties will include managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jack as our new Comptroller for the City of Troy,” said Mayor Carmella Mantello. “Jack’s knowledge, experience and deep commitment to public service will be invaluable as we work to strengthen our city’s financial foundation and continue building a prosperous future for all residents. The City Comptroller’s office is integral to maintaining the fiscal health and integrity of Troy.”

Krokos, a Rensselaer County native, brings a wealth of knowledge in the banking industry where he worked as a financial analyst, commercial credit underwriter, mortgage loan officer, and investment manager. Additionally, Krokos graduated with an MBA from SUNY Albany and has served as a town councilman in Sand Lake, where he resides.

In response to the appointment, Krokos said: “I am honored and grateful to begin my service as Comptroller for City of Troy in Mayor Mantello’s administration. I look forward to working with the heads of all departments to ensure sound financial practices, promote accountability and transparency in all fiscal matters.”

“As our Comptroller, Jack will oversee the implementation of a brand new, state of the art accounting system that will allow the Comptroller’s office to become more efficient and effective in working toward best serving the people of the City of Troy,” said Mayor Mantello.
