Mayor Mantello Announces Hiring of New City Engineer
TROY, NY — Mayor Carmella R. Mantello is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Marini as the City of Troy’s new City Engineer. Marini brings a wealth of experience in municipal infrastructure, civil engineering, and project management, having spent the past eight years serving in various engineering roles within the City of Albany. The previous full-time city engineer, Russ Reaves, will transition to part-time and assist with special projects.
During his tenure in Albany, Marini held positions including Project Manager, Program Manager, and Acting City Engineer, overseeing critical public works projects and infrastructure initiatives. In addition to his municipal experience, he founded his own civil engineering business in 2019, which he continues to operate on a part-time basis. A 2015 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Marini holds a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree.
“Chris Marini’s extensive experience in municipal engineering, coupled with his deep understanding of infrastructure and development, makes him a tremendous asset to the City of Troy,” said Mayor Mantello. “His leadership and expertise will be instrumental in advancing our city’s engineering projects and ensuring the continued improvement of our roads, bridges, and public infrastructure. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Marini expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am honored to join the City of Troy and bring my experience in municipal engineering to this great community. Troy is a city with a rich history and a promising future, and I look forward to working with Mayor Mantello and the team to enhance and modernize our infrastructure.”
Marini officially begins his role as City Engineer on Monday, March 31st, 2025, and will play a key role in overseeing the city’s engineering projects, infrastructure maintenance, and development initiatives.
