Troy, NY (March 14-15) – All Troy residents, even those who do not currently use municipal trash and recycling services, should be on the lookout for a notice in their mail about the new, lidded trash barrels that the City of Troy is providing. The Sanitation Department wants residents have all the information they need to make informed decisions about using municipal trash services and receiving their new barrels. These trash barrels will be distributed in April, decreasing wind-blown litter, animal access to trash, and will standardize resident service.
An informative mailer has been sent to all residents with answer to frequently asked questions, like: “Will my service schedule change?”, “How do I switch from private trash service to City service?”, and "Can I use my non-city issued barrel."
The flyer should be in your mailbox this week. The schedule of when the barrels will be delivered to your home will be posted on https://www.troyny.gov/cleanstreets soon.
